Hugh Stoddard

Hugh Stoddard, M.Ed., Ph.D., is the Assistant Dean for Medical Education in the University of Nebraska College of Medicine where he is also the Director of the Curriculum and Educational Research Office and Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine. He earned a Ph.D. in educational studies and administration and a Master of Education in economics education from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Prior to joining UNCOM in 2004 Hugh was a high school teacher and coach and spent many years teaching at overseas schools. Hugh is a member and contributor to the American Educational Research Association, the National Council on Measurement in Education, the Association of American Medical Colleges, and the Society for Directors of Research in Medical Education. He has served as the president of SDRME and as the Affirmative Action Officer for AERA Division I (Education in the Professions division). His primary research interests include assessment of medical student performance, increasing the number of medical students from underrepresented groups, and educational technology.
