Kara Reynolds

Kara Reynolds is  Professor of Economics at American University.  She teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in economics, including Microeconomic Theory, International Economics, and Writing in Economics.  As Chair of the Department of Economics, Prof. Reynolds launched a Student Developed Course Competition in 2023, which eventually led to the creation of her one-credit course Swiftonomics: The Economics of Taylor Swift.  Prof. Reynolds’ research focuses on the intersection of politics and international trade policy, as well as the economic consequences of trade protection.  She has a BA in International Studies from American University, and an MA and PhD in Economics from the University of Virginia.
