Graham is a former A.P. Economics, U.S. History, and Government teacher in Baltimore County, Maryland. During his 6 years of teaching he conducted numerous professional development workshops for the Baltimore Branch of the Federal Reserve, and regularly worked on outreach for the Maryland Council for Economic Education. He also taught the Advanced Placement Economics Summer Institute for the mid-Atlantic region. He is a recipient of a Fulbright-Hays Fellowship Abroad to China and two National Endowment for the Humanities grants for historical research.

Currently, Graham is the Social Studies Program Specialist for the Maryland State Department of Education, and is responsible for coordinating all large-scale social studies assessment for the state.
