  • Examine alternative food production and allocation models and evaluate their effectiveness when compared to our large scale, conventional system.
  • Explore the issue of food scarcity and food insecurity and discuss possible methods to combat these problems in society.
  • Learn about lesson plan ideas they can use in class with their students to foster critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Explore some EdTech tools and economic simulations to foster a dynamic learning environment.

In this economics webinar, teachers will explore the economics of the modern food system and evaluate its efficiency and equity.

Description

Teachers will be introduced to several lesson plan ideas that give their students the opportunity to critically analyze the production and distribution of food through our economic system.  We will also introduce some EdTech applications and simulations that foster a dynamic learning environment.
